Lynn Holt is Professor of Philosophy and Interim Head of the Department. He has taught at MSU for over twenty years, with prior appointments at The University of the South and Centenary College. He received his Ph.D. from Vanderbilt in 1987. His research work centers on the historiography of reason and intellectual achievement, and has recently focused on intellectual virtuosity in diverse practices such as experimental psychology, architecture, archaeology, and astronomy. He teaches a wide range of courses, from the philosophy of science to ancient Greek philosophy.
